Our marvelous cooperation with Dr. Joel Ginsburg brings about a questionnaire that precisely measures the desired qualities of virtual workers, based on his academic and research work on determining the personality characteristics that identify a successful global Virtual Team member.

Dr.  Ginsburg has extensive career experience and years of academic research focused on the dynamics of Virtual Teams. He researched, studied, and evaluated the factors that affect the performances of random globally dispersed virtual team members.

 

We are proud that Global Symfony is currently the only psychometric instrument that enables international organizations to optimize their selection and development of potentially premier virtual team members. It actually measures and reports in respect to 18 factors (13 interpersonal characteristics and 5 different coping strategies with conflict) along 84 questions related to preferred work behaviors in a succinct and effective manner.

Each of these eighteen (18) factors is presented as a score in a form of continuum of 1 to 9. A score of 1-3 indicates that your preference for expressing this behavior is low; a score of 3-6 shows that you perceive yourself as having this particular preference in a medium level and a score of 6-9 suggest high preference in this factor when compared with others.

The psychometric properties of the tool have been  in initial stage already validated  across a pilot version and resulted in a  Cronbach-A of 0,78 across the scales. This initial index of validation is encouraging since allow us to confirm that scales and data fit the grounded to both  literature and research theoretical model.
